Last year I traveled to Prague and found quite interesting sculptured art made by David Cerny. This year I took the trip to Northern Macedonia capital city. Skopje is known by thousands of sculptures and monumental architecture.
Let’s check what sculptured and sacral architecture art I met on my travel to Zagreb – Osijek – Skopje -Belgrade – Linz – Vienna.
OSIJEK, CROATIA
Franjo Krežma, statue in Osijek.

Franjo Krežma, violine player, Vanja Radauš
Franjo Krežma was compositor and violin virtuous. Sculptor: Vanja Radauš (1967.)After the restoration, the sculpture is equipped with the contemporary audio system playing Krežma’s music.
Among the most famous sculptures in Osijek are August Cesarac, known as “City Walker”, afterwar installation The Tank and Fićo, People ( known as Group of Citizens), Pablo Picasso and the statue of Miroslav Krleža.
Every mentioned sculpture is work of Croatian artists glorifying other important historical personalities or moments. Interesting fact about the sculpture made by Ivan Sabolić says that this is the only sculpture presenting Pablo Picasso standing out of painters native country, Spain.
SKOPJE, REPUBLIC OF NORTHERN MACEDONIA
Contemporary legend says there are more sculptures in Skopje than alive citizens.
Found the buddy on the “Artists bridge” but have to move on…
Soon I am flying to Austria. Tend to add some more photos from Macedonia.
Also, check Instagram because this is not even nearly all from the city of sculptors. Skoplje.
