Hunter – British rubber boot company since 1865. making famous  “Hunter boots”

Rubber boots no one would ever consider elegant, stylish yet royal if you exclude Hunter boots company. An Edinburgh-based company produces rubber boots since early 1865. At previous temps, it was only for war purposes but these days it is pure fashion. High fashion designers like Jimmy Choo got the collaboration with Hunter company.

Every year in this period I think about how much I love May. love the spring.  love sudden unexpected spring rain. love music festivals lineups coming out.  The only mutual and practical conclusion is that I should find a pair of fashionable rain boots. But, even if you do not like sudden spring rain considering a pair of Hunter boots will make rainy day’s fashion more likable.

The company’s founder is Henry Lee Norris.  At first, the company was named North British Rubber Company. The actual name, Hunter, came from the hunter’s green color.  The Hunter company stands for traditional British royalty and wealthy country landowners style.

The company is still using the same handcrafting production process. Making each boot from the 28 different pieces using the vulcanization technique. The rubber is coming from the same plantation in Gana for last 25 years.  After WW II. the company became so large they outgrew the initial production hall so they move to Dumfries for good.

The original hunter’s green color model from  1956’s became a symbol of the company. Also, this is British royalty’s first choice boot.

Last decade they kick off the festival seasons. They are specializing in  festival footwear and apparel. Producing even rubber slides for sunny summer festivals.

Stylish rubber boots find their place in Hollywood’s projects, as well. Lovely Mrs. Smith (Angelina Jolie) wears them in the movie filmed about Mrs. and Mr. Smith (Brad Pitt).

Obviously, the wellies became so famous in last decades even high fashion shoe experts like Jimmy Choo could not resist their charm. That is why they collaborate with Hunter company and make their own luxurious Hunter boots.
